On December 7th, I got to live out something on my bucket list... I attended the Z-100 Jingle Ball with my eleven-year-old daughter.

 ("We Arrived!")

I was listening to the radio at sleep-away camp the first day that Z-100 started. And for the past ten years, I've been obsessed with attending this concert extravaganza. This is a four hour plus event where the biggest and most currents artists sing their hearts out.

(On the way there armed with candy for the five-hour show!)

I went in well aware that this was a scene for the youth and I may be the only mama in her 40's shaking her thing while belting out every word. Would I even know the words?... Gasp!

Well, my worry was in vain because Shawn Mendes brought us all back into puberty puppy love. Everyone was swooning and singing and by the time he covered the Kings of Leon song, "Use Somebody," we had all already melted.

Camilla Cabello was incredible and definitely pleased the crowd. She reminded me of a young Penelope Cruz. Her performance was sexy and electrifying. My daughter ooohed at her silver fitted jumpsuit ensemble. And I also really enjoyed Bazzi singing "Myself."

Alessia Cara was in my mind's eye, anti-hip and wonderfully so. She didn't have slick dance moves nor did she shake her booty. She wore a charming, too-large Men's Style Suit as she jumped around the stage in a pleasing age-appropriate way. She shared she hasn't always been doing well in the song, "Not Today," and the audience adored her.

Dua Lipa added a sophistication that surprised and awed me. Seemed very 90's. And Khalid's duet was fantastic.

G-Easy was easy on the eyes but I was left a bit confused about how every rap song he performed had vocals with someone else even though he was the only performer on stage. I wanted one of the other female performers to join him.

Bebe Rexha killed it with a very emotional performance and incredible band.

Calvin Harris DJ'd and suddenly we were all invited to the most amazing party with a light show.

Of course, I have to mention Cardi B. She didn't disappoint.

There were others too but these are my highlights.

My daughter ate popcorn, we laughed, we shook our bodies to the music and sang our hearts out. I give the night a 10!
