“Do you hear the ticking?”

That’s what a voice eerily asks in the upcoming movie, “The House With The Clock In Its Walls,” which is based on the book by John Bellairs. And the answer is yes.. we definitely do.

This is an ambitious Film that centers around an old house that has a clock hidden inside its walls. Its deliberately set up as a ticking time bomb.

What stands this apart from regular horror films is the Casting of comedienne Jack Black paired with Director Eli Roth.

Roth is known for more traditional R rated horror movies such as the “The Green Inferno” about Cannibals and the Horror/Mystery thriller “Hostel.”

Black has starred in many Family Friendly Films such as “School Of Rock” and “Kung Fu Panda.”

We have Witches, spells, a creepy old house and ten year old Owen Vaccaro playing the character of Lewis. Lewis ends up at the house visiting his Uncle (Jack Black) and accidentally wakes up the dead.

Added into this eclectic mix is Oscar Winner Cate Blanchett.

In an area where it’s difficult to pry children away from their phones, this combination of fright and funny may just do the trick.  Children will be excited to get their first taste of the horror genre in this exciting PG rated Film.
