Movie Buffs welcome! If you’re in the New York area, and are looking for free things to do with your friends this last summer month, check out Central Park’s Conservancy Film Festival. Showcasing some classic and off-the-wall films, it kicks off on August 14th with Hair (PG), Crooklyn (PG-13) on August 15th, Dr. Strangelove (PG) on August 16th, and finally The Muppets Take Manhattan (G) on August 17th.

Introduce your kids to a classic children’s film about Jim Henson’s famous puppets, The Muppets, and their mission to bring their show “Manhattan Melodies” to Broadway. The event is completely free and starts at 6:30pm, the movie starts at dusk. All movies are open captioned. It’s an outdoor event under the stars, so take a picnic blanket, a few snacks, and sweaters for when the night gets a bit chillier. Outdoor movie nights are just my favorites for a chill summer night. You’ll want to get there early for a good view!
