Reginald (Reggie) Eugene Langford Jr., a lifestyle blogger, husband, and father hails from the Motor City. Growing up without a father, Reggie remembers his mother finding a way to provide for him and his seven siblings even though they didn’t have much. Although his time with his father was short, Reggie coins his father “his best friend” and stated that his dad had the biggest impact on his life. “When he passed I had to become the man of the house at the age of 9 and it forced me to grow up sooner than a kid should, but it made me strong. The short amount of time I had with him was powerful and really left a large impression on me. I remember the good times we had and how much he loved me. This is why I am so passionate about being a great father and I want to make sure that when I leave this earth, my kids know that I loved them and was a great example of how to be a man.” Reggie and his wife, Hannah, have been married for 3 years. They have 2 boys. Ezra is two years old and Zane is one. “My wife came into my life at a time where I really needed support. She was the first step of me understanding the true purpose of my life.”

Since having children, Reggie’s life has changed for the better. “Having children has given my life purpose and has put my work ethic into overdrive. I plan to give my children the life they deserve, and everything I do is for them. One great thing is, I have never felt I couldn’t do something because of my children, and with being young, that’s something many young parents fear.”

As a lifestyle, Reggie enjoys writing about fatherhood. “I wish someone would have told me how much snot came out of a little kid’s face. As well as how often kids get sick, therefore leading me to become sick.” His encouragement to first time fathers is to “be prepared to sacrifice.” “I’m talking about late nights because the kids are sick, using your shirt to wipe the boogers off of your child’s face, and using your hand as a barrier to block a pee stream from hitting your face! You will have to make sacrifices, but embrace it and you will begin to love it!”

Reggie attributes his fashion sense to what feels goods to him and actor, Michael B. Jordan. He is also inspired by DevanOnDeck and Jamal Jackson. “I pride myself off of being able to look good in what I’m wearing no matter the price tag.” For Reggie, his purpose for existing is to inspire. “I want to inspire others through my actions. I want to show people that you can do whatever you want to do in life, and that you can do it with integrity and selflessness. I want to be a role model for some of the other young men who may also be growing up without a father and needs to see what it looks like to do things the right way. I want to inspire the people where I’m from and show them that we can do amazing things and we don’t have to just be a product of our environment, but also never forget where we came from. I want to show other African American men that we can be role models and inspirations without just a ball or mic in our hand. Find the best way to express yourself, and do it with all your heart.”
