I had the pleasure of spending a small amount of time with you beautiful ladies, but I must say you guys have such a profound sense of FAMILY and doing it with just your mother and sister alone I know from the outside looking in you guys make it look easy.

How has Lupus affected your mother Roxanne and her health and how do the effects trickle down to you and Brittany and the girls?
Lupus has affected my whole family tremendously. My mother is no longer the same. We see my mother struggle when she has flare-ups, and it hurts us.

How has life changed for you in the last year?
Life has been great, now I’m a mother of two, so it’s been such a joy!

Off camera has Devoin stepped up for Nova and how is their relationship now
Devoin has some personal issues that he needs to take care of before he can be a full-time father to Nova. As of now, he is out of the picture!

One of the hardest episodes I watched was when Stella was having some health issues, how is she doing now?
Stella is diagnosed with VSD. Ventricular Septal Defect. She has three holes in her heart, but as of now, she is ok. Her cardiologist appointment is coming up to see if anything has changed or if she needs medical assistance.

Being a mother of two, working and trying to do everything how do you find downtime or some alone time? What are some things you enjoy doing when you’re alone?
Believe it or not I don’t have any alone time, which is fine, I don’t complain. I love my kids! But if I did have alone time, I would probably catch myself at a movie or a restaurant eating good food.

What’s the most important quality you look for in a man now and dating?
Someone who is passionate, caring, has goals, someone who loves kids, someone who is hardworking and educated. Just someone who makes me and the girls smile.

Do you want more kids?
Yes, in the near future.

Tell me something I wouldn’t know about you from watching TV?
I love to travel.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
Owning my own home, having a family and being successful.

How has MTV changed your life? I know it comes with its pros and cons?
MTV has always been in my life. Yea there are pros and cons to everything, but nothing major has changed. More people know who we are when we are in public.

Believe it or not many women, of all ages, look up to you, what advice would you give anyone who has insecurities especially with their bodies?
I always said you have to love yourself but also, I had surgery done because I was insecure about my body, so do as you please. if it makes you happy, I am all for it.

What advice would you give young women who look to you for advice or guidance on being a teen mom?
Everyone makes mistakes, but God always allows u-turns, so it’s never too late to fix those mistakes. Being a teen mom isn’t easy, but you have to stay strong for your babies. Stay in school. Work hard and just enjoy being a mother!

Do you miss your privacy?
Of course, but being on TV you don’t have any.

Who is your role model and why?
My mother, she is strong, independent and she never gives up. She has shown me to be a great mother to my kids, and I am extremely grateful to have her by my side.

How do you motivate others?
I am just being me. My genie self. I try my best to do the right thing and yes being on TV can put a lot of pressure on you, but you have to stay strong. I will continue to share my story for however long MTV will let me and I do pray I can help someone out some way.

How do you handle criticism?
I block it all out. I do not let it ruin my day. Everyone has something to say so I try to ignore everything.

What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
My greatest strength is being a single mom. Knowing I am able to do this on my own. My greatest weakness is probably not wanting to ask for help. Since I’ve done it on my own for so long, I do not know what it’s like to have that help.

Who has inspired you in life and why?
My mother, she is a great example of how to be an independent and strong woman.

Would you rather be liked or respected?
I would much rather be respected.

Tell me something you have done that goes against all social conventions, yet you did it anyway because it was the right thing to do?
I got a lot of heat on the show when it came to Stella and my options. People thought it was wrong because I wanted to place Stella up for adoption, but I wanted to explore my options because I knew I wouldn’t be able to give her everything she deserves. I am grateful that we do have that right to explore our options.

What were some of the challenges that you faced being a parent at a young age?
I went through it all. All the obstacles that you can think of. The odds were stacked against me, but it’s not about what I went through it’s about how I overcame them and how I’m able to learn from everything that has happened in my past.

Did you have any goals, before becoming a mother, that was hindered after becoming a mother?
I wanted to become a pharmacist but having Nova at such a young age put my dreams on hold but I do plan to go back once Stella is in school.

If you could go back in time and do it all over again would you do it the same?
I am a firm believer of whatever happened was supposed to happen, so yes I would do it all over again the same exact way. Yeah, if I was, if can go back and change somethings, but those things made me who I am today.

What’s your favorite thing to do with your girls?
I love just sitting back, watch a movie or go to a park and enjoy our time together as a family.

What will you do differently with your daughters knowing the risk of becoming a teen mother and going through the ups and downs?
I love my kids, and I will never shut them out. I will be here for them always. I will continue to teach them as much as I can do to the right thing. sense of Family and doing it with just your mother and sister alone I know from the outside looking in you guys make it look easy.
